Mid-Atlantic Premier League:

Mid-Atlantic Premier League (“MAPL”) is the Mid-Atlantic's top National Premier League (NPL) partnered with US Club Soccer.  As the top US Club Soccer competition platform in the region, MAPL requires the top referees in the country.

Thank you for accepting the assignment to referee in the MAPL.

Below is general information and rules applicable to MAPL competition:

  • U13-U18/U19 – Size 5 (provided by the home team)

  • U12 – Size 4 (provided by the home team)

GAME BALL

  • U12 -> 60 Minutes (2x30 min halves)

  • U13 -> 70 minutes (2x35 min halves)

  • U14 -> 70 minutes (2x35 min halves)

  • U15 -> 80 minutes (2x40 min halves)

  • U16 -> 80 Minutes (2x40 min halves)

  • U17 -> 80 minutes (2x40 min halves)

  • U18/19 -> 80 minutes (2x40 halves)

Referees should provide appropriate stoppage time in every game.

GAME LENGTH

  • Each player, coach and staff on the bench needs to have an US Club passcard.

  • The MAPL allows up to four (4) ECNL-RL players from the same club to drop down and participate on a given competition day

  • The MAPL allows up to three (3) U15 Trapped Players to participate in U14 NPL Competition ONLY during their sanctioned high school season. Please reference Rule 7.8 for more information.

  • Unlimited substitutions at the referees discretion. Please remind coaches to NOT abuse this rule and should be respectful of the game, the opponent, and the referees when completing substitutions.

Standard Policy

Home Team: light shirt, light socks, any shorts | Away Team: dark shirt, dark socks, any shorts

Two Game / Travel Weekend

Game #1 (Saturday) – Home Team: light shirt, light socks, any short | Away: dark shirt, dark socks, any shorts

Game #2(Sunday) – Home Team: dark shirt, dark socks, any short | Away: light shirt, light socks, any shorts

In event of a conflict the AWAY team will be required to change

*Bring all jersey sets to all competition dates so there's no issue if away team needs to change*

REFEREE FEES

Referees should arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to scheduled kick off time.

Game fees should be paid to referees no later than immediately after the game.  The home team is responsible for payment of full game fee.

U12 -> $160 Per Game ($80 | $40 | $40)
U13 -> $180 Per Game ($90 | $45 | $45)
U14 -> $180 Per Game ($90 | $45 | $45)
U15 -> $200 Per Game ($100 | $50 | $50)
U16 -> $200 Per Game ($100 | $50 | $50)
U17 -> $200 Per Game ($100 | $50 | $50)
U/1819 -> $200 Per Game ($100 | $50 | $50)

REd CARDS

The referee reports all red cards with corresponding documentation immediately following the game to Mid-AtlanticPL@usclubsoccer.org. The referee assignor should also be included.

The report should include age group, teams, player(s) sent off, the offense, and referee’s name, email and phone number. 

Referees should not keep player passes for players that are sent off, they should be returned to the coach or team manager.

Please use this supplemental referee report and submit it with the above information to the MAPL.
